Building the network of European research infrastructures.
From 3–5 November, Brussels hosted this year’s EOSC Symposium, the largest annual event of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC), attended by around 500 professionals. The conference was organized by the EOSC Gravity project, in which Pro-M Professional Mobile and Network Service Provider Private Company, Ltd. also plays an active role.
The aim of EOSC is to connect European research infrastructures and provide all researchers with access to the data and service resources they need for their work. To achieve this, EOSC organizes individual infrastructures into nodes, which together form the EOSC Federation. The central theme of this year’s symposium was the development of the EOSC Federation and the sharing of experiences from the first 13 nodes that have already been launched. The central EOSC EU Node was also introduced at the event, playing a key role in the development of the European research data infrastructure.
On the first day of the conference, new funding opportunities opening within the EOSC Gravity project were presented, aimed at supporting the creation of future nodes and joining existing ones. The three-day event offered valuable opportunities for knowledge exchange for all those interested in gaining a deeper understanding of node operations and best practices to date. The knowledge gained here may also serve as guidance for the Hungarian research community in future international collaborations.
Pro-M Ltd. was represented at the event by Ákos Lencsés.
