On April 2-3, 2025, the Critical Communications Broadband Group (CCBG), a working group of the TCCA (The Critical Communications Association), held its #31t plenary meeting online. At this spring event, Miklós Takács, an expert from Pro-M Zrt.’s Mobile Business Unit’s Service Development Directorate, participated.
The CCBG is a working group focused on developing and standardising critical communication broadband technologies. These technologies enable emergency services, police, and fire departments to communicate more effectively, even in critical situations.
The meeting was chaired by Tero Pesonen, the group’s chair, during which TCCA’s related working groups presented their results. Participants discussed, among other things, the future use of the 380 MHz band, PPDR roaming conditions, and satellite backup communication requirements. The cybersecurity challenges in critical communication and 6G technology also received significant attention.
The CCBG is a global collaboration involving companies, organisations, and service providers from the emergency sector across Europe, Asia, Australia, and America. In his contribution, Miklós Takács highlighted a broadband service launched by Pro-M in February this year. The event saw the launch of several new initiatives, including the development of guidelines for assessing cybersecurity risks.
The next plenary meeting is to take place in autumn 2025.
